History/Key Points: Kamala Khan at Marvel Wikia

After rescuing Vick from Doyle, Kamala is sent to the leader of her mosque for a talk on guidance. Telling him a half truth about helping people, and not about her powers, Sheikh Abdullah told her to find a teacher, who would appear when she is ready for training. Returning home, she discovers a sinkhole which has odd noises, and journeys into the sewers where she meets not only the Inventor and a group of mind controlled gators, but the famous Wolverine.

Wolverine teaches her how to fight on the fly, and admits that it's hard to save people without pain and suffering cycling, but after defeating the Inventors traps, they break free and save Julie, a student from the Jean Grey School. Logan passes on her existence to the queen of the Inhumans who sends Lockjaw, a inhuman dog to be her partner and guide, as well as her eyes and ears.

Kamala immediately adopts the dog and starts looking into the Inventor and the kidnapped kid from the Academy. Discovering that there was a abandoned power plant, she sets off only to be thwarted. Unknown to her, a small robot slips into her costume and her bag, and brings a giant robot that is armed with weapons that knocks down the front of the school to get to Kamala. Kamala takes the fight to it, but is injured, only to have Lockjaw and Bruno escape after being picked up by the queen. Healing Kamala, the queen states that she is keeping an eye on her, and Kamala leaves for home.

Kamala returns later to the house in the woods where she first rescued Vick, and confronts the creator of the one calling himself Thomas Edison, the villain who has been luring kids from across the country to become batteries in a giant human power plant. Kamala convinces the teenagers to help her out, and they storm the abandoned power plant. Kamala finds herself outmatched but she sends a signal to Bruno who calls the police.

In the end, the police show up after Kamala defeats the giant robot and rescues her other best friend Nakia who had been kidnapped as well. Fleeing, Edison is crushed under the collapsing weapon, and Kamala realizes she now has a parallel life to protect her family and friends as Ms Marvel.

Before all of this happened, Kamala was a enormous fan of Carol Danvers, the then current Ms Marvel. As a young girl she was one of the civilians rescued in a major attack. Following her career with extreme interest, Kamala is a devoted fan and grew up following the superhero community through its ups and downs. During an incident in the middle of Kamala's initial adventures involving the Inventor, she gets a notification from the Carol Danvers message board citing that a villain is committing a crime in the original Ms Marvel outfit. Enraged for both her own sake being Ms Marvel, and Carols honor, Kamala runs off from school and suits up.

It is here where she meets the Amazing Spider-Man who had run off from his handlers in order to thwart the job. Encountering said villain who was an unethical kree scientist with Ms Marvel's first tier powers, Kamala and Spider-Man fought her and rescued the cocoon which turned out to be a newborn half-kree child born to a pair of parents in the immediate area. Disgusted with the fake Marvel's actions, Kamala protected the baby, and got some surprise help from one of the henchmen who turned out to be the former villain Clash. Clash admitted that he was trying to go straight, but no one would hire him. After saving said baby and returning the newborn to the parents, Kamala got some advice from Spider-Man and his approval as Ms Marvel before returning to Jersey. This incident happens approximately a day or so into the costumed antics of Ms Marvel after the Inventor sent a message to her at the Circle Q.

Weeks later during Valentines Day, Kamala receives a note from an anon admirer, a letter written by Bruno and dictated by Loki, Agent of Asgard. She goes to the dance to look for the owner despite not being allowed to go. She then recognizes Loki from the Circle Q having met him there albeit briefly, and she and Nakia notices Loki drugging the punch.

With the punch spiked with a truth serum as Loki's mission was to locate any undercover spies from the Inventor, Kamala returned as Ms Marvel and had a brief dust up with Loki who she punched in the face. Josh, one of Kamala's classmates threw the punch into Loki's face, causing him to become honest and truthful for a short time. He explained why he was there, and while arguing briefly with Kamala as Ms Marvel, he agreed to ward the school against danger. The ward presumably quote Loki "Should hold against anything short of a Frost Giant" and it would keep the students safe. Loki then states truthfully that Kamala and everyone else should look after another, because friends are incredibly important since he said that it would make friends for life. After which Loki returned to Asgard, his mission complete and Kamala spoke to Bruno that she loved him, but not as a romantic partner but even closer. More like family. Satisfied, Bruno told her to "Tell Kamala hi" and Kamala returned home, presumably to level her character in World of Battlecraft since she wasn't allowed to dance due to family rules.

Personality: Kamala is a young woman with self-identity issues.

As a devoted fan of Carol Danvers whose heroics shaped her life, Kamala grew up wishing she was just like Carol: tall, blonde, giant boots. This wish, coupled with several influences from her home life and her friends such as Zoey, caused her to have a severe self-identity crisis. Feeling she wasn't up to the standards of western society in that she describes herself as a plain brown girl, Kamala wishes to be something else. Something bigger and brighter.

She got her wish during the Terragenesis event in which her inhuman powers were brought to the fore, and she could become Carol Danvers in appearance. She quickly learned however that being a hero wasn't glamorous at all, as it felt like trying to fit into a skin that wasn't her own. Her own sense of discomfort as Carol eventually changed her world as she began to learn her place in the world.

Kamala is always seeking answers, answers that others are happy to provide but she isn't willing to accept that she herself needs to learn this at times. Headstrong and stubborn, Kamala feels like she is unable to find her place in the world. It is not to say she is unused to the world around her, she is well versed in internet lingo and games, she also knows Carol Danvers life inside and out from her origin story to the events that turned the now Captain Marvel from Ms Marvel. She honestly believes that Carol is the best thing in the world, and even ships SpiderMarvel, in that she desperately hopes Carol will go back to Spider-Man later on.

This sense of identity also caused Kamala to look into becoming a better Kamala, and not just a carbon copy of Ms Marvel, despite having different powers at the time of writing. She is constantly searching for her own answers, and took lessons from Wolverine on how the pain cycles, and how saving people can also hurt. To this end, she is a girl full of potential, as her Ms Marvel identity does not identify her, but the other way around.

Kamala identifies Ms Marvel, as a new Ms Marvel full of hopes and dreams and potential. Named for Perfection in Arabic, Kamala embodies the traits of a blank flank; someone with the incredible potential to become something great. She inspires people, telling them what they could be, and helping them. At the current point in the comics she now accepts help, knowing now that she can't do everything alone. She relies on Bruno and Vick, and learned what her mosque leader was telling her. And yet, she continues to learn. Not constrained to the thoughts of one person, Kamala pulls in lessons from all the people around her. To this end, Kamala is not the kind of person to have a cutie mark as of this time, as her destiny is not set, and she is constantly evolving her world and her personality. She is undergoing a coming of age story, one that she is shaping herself without being defined strictly as Ms Marvel.

Kamala is also devoted to Carol 100%. She will defend her to the death if it comes down to it. As one of her most devoted fans, Kamala realizes that Carol is an inspiration for women everywhere, but also her own personal hero. She was rescued years ago by Carol before gaining her powers, and she has followed her career since she was a child. She would love to meet Carol in person some day, but also would love to team up with other superheroes in the community. She is a creative soul, having written fanfiction for the Avengers and X-Men, as well as her favorite kids comic and show "Magical Pony Adventures" a thinly veiled MLP reference. She hopes one day that Carol herself will give her the approval she so desires, and hopes she has become a great Ms Marvel.

Gem: Diamond! As King of the Gems, Diamond represents Kamala's growth and flaws. As a diamond gem, she is strong, stalwart, and wanting to do the right thing, but one small chip can mar the surface, making the jeweler cut it differently. No two are the same, and it represents her drive to change and make the world a better place, starting with her city.

Power Considerations: Bioluminesence - She glows in the dark. It really doesn't have much practical use at all.

Size Expansion and Reduction - One of her key abilities, unrelated to shapeshifting, Kamala can grow huge or small, and she uses this to her advantage.

Healing Factor - Kamala has a heightened healing factor which is offset by the amount of stamina and calories she takes in to recover this energy. She can heal rapidly from a bullet or stab wound, but it will also leave her tired. She eats a lot to compensate from this.

Extra: There's at least a years worth of development here and there are several arcs after this, Crushed, Last Days of Ms Marvel and All New All Different Avengers.
